At the beach

In the winter time

photo

This photo was taken today, at Crete. It’s almost December and the beach looks so deliciously empty and welcoming… Do you ever go to the beach in the wintertime? There are dozens of things to do to make the most of a crowd-less shore: you can sit and enjoy the quietness without worrying that a racquetball will hit you in the head; you can read or paint, because the light is so soft, you can collect pebbles or seashells wearing white, pretending you are Diane Keaton in Something’s Gotta Give, you can try to do a cartwheel, sing really loud or write giant messages in the sand. Of course, if you’ re feeling courageous enough you can swim; all the winter swimmers I know say it is super revitalizing!
