Morning song

We walked through slippery paths dense with vegetation, climbed a few rocks and passed over the wooden bridges, shared the giggles about the magical place we were about to discover; a place that was no secret, but felt like secret: glades and emerald lakes, reflecting the morning light; surrounded by trees and natural waterfalls.

At the canyon of Polilimnio, we watched the people leave their worries behind, their clothes on the rocks and dive into one of the fifteen lakes that create this beautiful natural scenery. The swimmers laughed and played with the water like children… You could hear their happy voices mingling with the sound of the waterfalls and the rustling leaves. After a while, the games, the laughter and the voices stopped: the swimmers were moving slowly inside the water, all quiet, relaxed, concentrated.

They made me think of our first nine months of life, swimming gracefully, feeling protected and safe. The lake swimmers went back to an age of innocence and joy, and then back to an age of inner peace and trust, where every morning is a fresh start.

Α dive, with or without the splash, is sometimes a whole new place, like a short trip: refreshing and fun; unknown and exciting.
