Blue Gray

drz-kfn-0806

It’s been a while since people where sitting on those blue lined up tables. Too cold and windy to sit outside even for braves or romantics. In the summertime it would be difficult to find an empty table to sit and have a drink looking at the sea: Then, the calming blue gray dialogue of the tables, the chairs, the cement and the sea, is interrupted by the vivid colors on people’s clothes, hats and beach bags.

That’s why I like this photo so much: it shows the different realities that local people experience as seasons alternate. It is a very strange feeling, even hard at times, to watch the island change gradually, from a summer to a winter state; in the same time, it is a beautiful soothing change that many island people are looking forward to; and although the adaptation to this quietness is not the same for everyone, I find it easier than the passage to my beloved August frenzy.
