February blues

drz-0716

Minute by minute, hour by hour, purple flakes of light find their way back into afternoon skies, stealing February dullness and giving away hints of more comfortable days to come. Of days filled with light and filled with time; time to waste listening to cicadas or magical island concerts, drinking beer and feeling happily insomniac.

The light filled days are weaved in these gloomy afternoons, minute by minute, hour by hour and there is nothing to be done about it; nothing but wait. This long row of Tuesdays and Thursdays will eventually brighten up: almond trees will bloom, then lilacs will bloom; before you know it bitter orange trees will bloom, intoxicating Athens with a unique perfume that if it was bottled, it would sell like crazy by the name Finally Summer.

But now, living the perpetual groundhog day of a month whose strongest feature is heart shaped chocolate, Ι realized how much I missed writing to this blog and how much I missed the idea of a pan that is strong enough to carry the dreams and hopes of all the people in seek of a better life.
