Man and his environment

Paraga, Mykonos

01 02 03

When I saw those photos that Christos sent from Mykonos, I couldn’t help thinking how well this man fits within his environment. I remembered that not so long ago, people at the islands used to work the land wearing shirts and trousers instead of jeans or overalls like they do now.

I also remembered my grandfather coming home from the fields wearing a long sleeve shirt all buttoned up, really worn off tailored pants, handmade island leather shoes like these; and a very characteristic straw hat tied up under his chin so it wouldn’t fly away with the next strong island wind.
